Who are we and Where are we located?

Guelph/Eramosa is a progressive township with a population of 12,066 people that is located and positioned to serve your business needs. Located in the County of Wellington, Guelph/Eramosa is centrally located in the heart of Southern Ontario.

  • Within a half hour of major urban centers – Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Milton, Brantford and Hamilton (total of 1.1 million people).
  • A short distance (61 km/38 miles) to the Greater Toronto Area and access to a population of 5.1 million people.
  • Access to approximately 130 million customers within a one-day drive. This represents about ¾ of Canada’s population and almost ½ of the United States population.

Guelph/ Eramosa is easily accessible by rail, air, water, and major highways, giving it excellent access to a variety of Ontario market areas:

  • Highway: Easy access to Provincial Highways such as the 401 (MacDonald Cartier Expressway), Highway 7, Highway 6, and County Rd. 124 (Former Hwy 124).
  • Rail: Main CNR and CPR lines as well as VIA (Guelph)
  • Air: Pearson Toronto International Airport, Hamilton Airport, Waterloo Regional Airport.
  • Water: Hamilton Harbour and Toronto Harbour

Close proximity to major United States border crossings:

  • Niagara Falls/ Buffalo (170 km/106 miles)
  • Sarnia/Port Huron (230 km/143 miles)
  • Windsor/Detroit (350 km/217 miles)

Potential for local high-tech business partnerships due to proximity to Waterloo Region and Guelph - over 300 high tech companies are located in this area.

Proximity to the Guelph Agri-Food Hub centred on the University of Guelph. A count in 1999 put the number of agri-food groups and related agencies at 212, with a total of 4,400 employees. This number has since grown.
