The Township of Guelph Eramosa invested more than $500,000 from the Canada Community-BuildingFund into a rehabilitation of a local commuter roadway in 2023.

A 3.8 km section of Guelph Nichol Townline, located in a rural and primarily agricultural part of Guelph Eramosa, was in rough shape. Parts of the road were rated as being in poor and serious condition, and drainage was poor overall.

To address these issues, the Township resurfaced the roadway and replaced two aged culverts. Additionally, the road was widened, and paint was added to mark the centre line and outside edge of the roadway.

Although Guelph Nichol Townline isn’t a heavily populated road, it is a well-travelled road, used by many local commuters. Completion of this project has had a tremendous impact on safety – particularly due to the road widening and newly painted guidelines. Both of these upgrades allow motorists and cyclists to share the road safely.
