Accessibility

The Township  of Guelph/Eramosa strives to ensure its program, services and facilities are barrier-free for residents with disabilities. The Township supports the goal of an accessible Province by 2025 through the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

The Ontario legislation requires that the Township identify, prevent and remove barriers.

The Township's Accessibility Policy outlines the Township's guidelines for support persons, feedback, service disruption, service animals, alternative formats, communication supports, training and the use of assistive devices.

Multi-year Accessibility Plan

As part of the AODA, accessibility standards have been created to remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities.  The Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) requires the Township to develop a multi-year plan that sets out how we will comply with the IASR.  This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines our approach to ensuring an inclusive workplace and to ensuring that our services are provided in an accessible manner for the public.

Alternative Formats

If you need an accessible format of a document, you can contact the Township Department responsible for the document, or contact the Clerk directly by calling 519-856-9596 ext. 125 or emailing aknight@get.on.ca.  We will work with you to provide a document in a format that best suits your needs, such as Braille, audio, or an electronic version.
