A building permit is formal permission to begin
a construction or demolition project. Building
permits are necessary to ensure that construction
methods meet the standards set out in the
Ontario Building Code, Federal and Provincial
regulations, and local by-laws. The Building
Department promotes and assists with building
development to ensure safe structures for our
residents, businesses, and visitors.
