Highway Watermain Replacement Update - September 16
The final connection from the new watermain to the existing distribution system at Carroll Street was completed on Wednesday September 15. All water services have now been restored and no further water disruptions are anticipated. Residents in the immediate vicinity of the work area may have experienced some air escaping when first operating their taps this morning. A new fire hydrant installation will be completed today near the top of the hill which will not impact services.
Concrete work on curbs and sidewalks will be commencing shortly. Further asphalt removal will be required from Harris Street north to the previously patched sinkhole at the first catchbasin. The southbound lane will be impacted with traffic control required due to lane restrictions approaching Harris from the north.
