Mayor and Council

What is the Township's Mayor & Council?

The Township's Mayor and Council are the elected representatives responsible for providing leadership and direction to the municipality. Acting under the authority of the Municipal Act (2001) and other applicable legislation, Council establishes the municipality's strategic priorities, adopts policies and by-laws, approves annual budgets, and makes decisions on matters affecting the community. Our Mayor serves as the head of Council, providing leadership, representing the municipality at official functions, and helping to ensure that municipal business is carried out effectively and in accordance with provincial legislation. Residents of our Township elect members of Council for a four (4) year term of office.
