Planning a Special Event in the Township of Guelph/Eramosa? Whether it be a community festival, charity runs or rides, parades, markets, or cultural celebrations, Special Events play an important role in bringing residents together, supporting local organizations, and creating vibrant community experiences.

In Guelph/Eramosa, organizers hosting events on municipal property (including parks, roads, trails, and other public spaces), may be required to obtain a Special Event Permit. These permits help the Township coordinate events in a way that is safe, organized, and community-friendly. Through the permit process, municipal staff can assist organizers with approvals, traffic management, emergency planning, insurance requirements, and coordination with municipal departments and external agencies. For organizers, the permit process also helps identify important requirements early and ensures everyone involved knows what to expect.

NOTE: Any individuals seeking a Special Event Permit must submit a complete application no less than thirty (30) days in advance of the event. Applicants are encouraged to reach out early to coordinate with Township staff!
