Committee of Adjustment

Due to COVID-19 and Public Health concerns, public attendance will not be permitted at Committee of Adjustment Meetings. Meetings will be conducted electronically and members of the public are encouraged to attend virtually via ZOOM. Please see the notices and agendas below for further instruction.

At this time due to COVID-19, Committee of Adjustment meetings will be held virtually via Zoom. 

How do I participate if I have comments or concerns?

You can send your written comments (photos, plans, etc) regarding the application by e-mail (preferred) to Secretary-Treasurer  Amanda Roger at aroger@get.on.ca with the subject line to read “Comments_Your Name_Application No._Address of the Property” OR by regular mail.

The out of hours mail drop box can also be used and is located at the Township's municipal office. Include your name, address, application number and address of the property for which you are providing comments.

To allow all Committee of Adjustment members the opportunity to review and consider your comments, please provide your written submissions no later than noon the day before the hearing date. 

Pre-register as a delegation by contacting the Secretary-Treasurer Amanda Roger by email  aroger@get.on.ca or telephone no later than 12 p.m. (noon) the day before the hearing date. You are encouraged to pre-register as a delegate as soon as possible to facilitate an orderly registration process.

All requests to delegate must contain a copy of your intended remarks which will be circulated to all members of Committee in advance as a backup should any technology issues occur. Pre-registered delegates will be provided with all necessary joining instructions to participate in the electronic hearing. 

If you do not wish to participate, but would like to follow along, the hearing will be held live through Zoom. Joining instructions  for this meeting can be found at the top of the meeting agenda that will be posted on the Committee of Adjustment webpage at least the day prior to the scheduled meeting.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Committee of Adjustment in respect to this application, you must submit a written request to the Acting Secretary-Treasurer. This will also entitle you to be advised of a possible Local Planning Appeal Tribunal Hearing. The Committee of Adjustment decision may be appealed to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal by the applicant or another member of the public.

The applicant is advised that it is mandatory that either the applicant or an authorized agent of the applicant must be present at the hearing. 

The Committee of Adjustment meets one Wednesday a month at 2:00 pm., pending applications. 

All applications must be received by 3:00 P.M. on the submission date, and must be determined complete prior to being added to the next agenda. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their application with the Secretary-Treasurer for the Committee of Adjustment and submit their applications prior to the last submission day.
